The Westerners have created quite a reputation for having eye-catching strips and the 2014-15 offerings are no different, with almost an 'everything but the kitchen sink' approach. While we would consider ourselves traditionalists when it comes to kits, we can't bring ourselves to hate these - maybe because it took so long to draw them.

One bum note on the green home strip is that the back is navy (and has been worn against navy teams), while there is an interesting story behind the blue European shirt. A few years ago, artist and Connacht fan Morgan O'Brien sent a concept design to the province and, while it wasn't initially taken up, they have incorporated the central features this time. Thankfully for us, Morgan was willing to share the pattern with us, which made rendering the kit far easier. Read about what happened here on Morgan's blog.
